Change can be bad

I have been craving a change. Not a major one, but change nonetheless.

First, I changed my bedroom. Let me rewind: I have been debating this for a while for several reasons. The first is that I was wanting to Feng Shui the room. In Feng Shui, it says that if you want the universe to bring you into a relationship, you must "prepare" your home. Kind of like you can't have your bed face a mirror because your spirit may wake up and be frightened by itself. For a relationship, you must make your home literally ready for one: creating symmetry in your bedroom by having two nightstands, two lamps, etc. The second reason I wanted a change was for change itself.

So last night I changed it around, did the Feng Shui thing, switched my bed to the only other wall it would fit on, then slept on it to see if it worked. The thing is, I hated it. I couldn't watch TV from bed or reach the light and the opposite wall looked funny. So, when I got home from work, I changed it back. What a waste.

Second, I changed my hair, which I am posting a picture of. I don't like it. I look like a fake. Like someone who is a natural brunette is trying to be a blonde and I do mean I look like a poser. My eyes don't pop anymore. And all I wanted was to go back to blonde RIGHT NOW. Apparently I might actually be a brunette.

So maybe change is a bad thing. Who knows? As long as I don't do anything drastic, I am sure I can handle it. Or, I could just go back to my rut.

True story: When I moved out to England I let myself become someone who I wasn't. It was the perfect opportunity to leave who I was behind and try on the character and personality of someone else. I hated it. The SECOND I got home I was relieved. It was like I was playing a part in a play out there sometimes.

Jenna, be who you are. Yes, change can be good, but not if it's changing the essence of what makes you, you. Dye your hair the color that makes you the most comfortable. Design your room the way that's going to make you want to stay in bed all day. Do things that make you happy instead of doing things you THINK may make you, or others, happier.

Be yourself. :)
